Fair Play on Science Fair Day

Thursday, April 26th marked the Junior School's Annual Science Fair Day! Held on an entire level in B-building, the year 4 and 5 students were finally able to showcase their weird, wild and wacky projects to fellow students, teachers and parents alike. Over the past few months the students had worked hard, observing, recording and finalising their projects and posters for the Science Fair. Four Big Cities in One Big Day

On Tuesday April 17th, the Junior School held an in-school theme day based on the cities: London, Toronto, New York and Sydney.  In the morning the year 4 and 5 students were presented with valuable information, videos and fun facts about each city which they were able to put to the test in the afternoon with a team trivia contest.  Other activities on the day included watching musicals, participating in mini Olympic Games and constructing iconic buildings out of paper. Junior School has exciting activity day!

On Tuesday March 6th students of our Junior School were treated to an exciting activity day excursion! The thrill seekers tried their hand at a number of activities including downhill skiing at Järabacken, ice skating at Vapenvallen, KFUM skatepark and climbing, and Friskis & Svettis.  For some students it was an opportunity to show off their extreme skills and talent and for others it was a fun and exciting introduction to some new popular sports. Junior School gets the chess bug...

A new craze has hit Junior School following a visit from Sveriges Schackförbund a few weeks ago. The organisation, which holds the Schackfyran chess tournament every year, came in to IES to give our Junior students a lesson in the basics of chess. They also gave the school lots of chess sets which are now being used at every opportunity. Read more
